Things going wrong and having to come up with something at the last second? Rebels or me?

Ezra and Kanan take on Darth Vader - from Star Wars: Rebels, Season Two

Here's (most) of what I've watched and played over the last seven days...

MOVIES

Here's the thing: this was supposed to be a post with a review of Fantastic Four: First Steps having finally seen it and I was going to review the entirety of Rebels' second season when I'd finished the damn thing.

However, thanks to some auto-saving not doing the 'saving' part, everything I'd written about the movie was lost and so no movie review.

Next week then.

GAMES

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice

I started playing this years ago but got side-tracked by many, many other things and am trying it out again - first impressions, the binaural sound when wearing headphones is top, top draw.

Also currently playing: Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)

TV

Star Wars: Rebels, Season Two - Part I

Season summary: The Ghost crew starts working with the wider Rebel cells, but are divided between joining the larger network and waging open war on the Empire, or staying out of a large-scale fight. (Wikipedia)

Episodes 1 + 2, “The Siege of Lothal”

This is getting very Star Wars-y now, with Rebel fleets involved, Darth Vader getting in on the action and finally a solid link to the Clone Wars as both he and Ahsoka sense the other’s presence – great start to a new season.

Episode 3, “The Lost Commanders”

Nice to see Rex again and to also note a few continuity issues – I don’t think the final two seasons of The Clone Wars had been made by the time this went out?

Episode 4, “Relics of the Old Republic”

Good to see Rex back in action and the music was especially well-used this time out – the reunion between Rex and Ahsoka was very sweet too.

Episode 5, “Always Two There Are”

Another really good episode with two new Inquisitors getting involved and the crew realising the scale of the challenge facing the Rebellion.

Episode 6, “Brothers of the Broken Horn”

A nice Ezra-focused episode, and it was fun to see Hondo back – especially as he wasn’t as irritating as I found him in previous appearances.

Episode 7, “Wings of the Master”

I wasn’t ever expecting to see an origin story for the B-Wings, but it was fun for what it was.

Episode 8, “Blood Sisters”

A mediocre episode focusing on Sabine, which doesn’t do much for her character thanks to Chopper having the best moments.

Episode 9, “Stealth Strike”

A fun caper helping a bond grow between Rex and Kanan, whose relationship I’m really beginning to enjoy.

Episode 10, “The Future of the Force”

Ahsoka getting in on the action for the first time in this series was great to finally see, kind of overshadowing the rest of an otherwise okay episode.

Episode 11, “Legacy”

A really good episode adding so much more to Ezra’s character than any other episode up to this point and a really good ‘end of the first half of the season’ piece of story-telling.

Overall, a very good start to the season and certainly more cohesive a set of episodes than the first season as a whole - that said, I do wonder if some scenes/moments might not work all that well for those who haven't watched Clone Wars? [7/10]
