Blog | Winter Is Coming

That 'winter' being the Winter Soldier of course. After that final season of Game of Thrones, is the title of this post now just a meme for the rest of time? What could've been...

As the title and image might suggest, Captain America: The Winter Soldier is the next movie to be reviewed, coming this Saturday. It's held strong as the best movie from Marvel Studios for a long time now, but can it stand up to the challenge of Avengers: Endgame?

Also, newer movies will get looked at in the near future, with a break in the MCU's on-going flow as I should hopefully be seeing a number of recent releases this weekend. Admittedly, that does include Godzilla: King of the Monsters which hasn't been received too favourably so far, so it might be a better idea to keep going with Marvel...

Indiana Jones & The Fate of Atlantis is moving along nicely thanks to having played it many, many, many times before and so the 'puzzles' are only minor interruptions in keeping the story moving. I'm still loving it and I have to admit that if it got a 'simple' audio-visual overhaul, I'd buy it again at full price. Not kidding either.

I'm also blasting my way through South Park: The Stick of Truth as I try and tidy my Steam library a little bit. Again, I've played this enough times that I'm ripping through it fast enough that I might be done with it before Indy! Still hilarious and still great fun to play.

I haven't actually started watching Orphan Black season two yet, but that problem will also be solved thanks to a nice 4-day weekend for me, in which I should be able to binge the whole damn thing.

In addition, I've had friends pestering me to watch Chernobyl, so will likely race through that soon too - although it might well mean pushing the later seasons of Orphan Black back a bit.

It's the Europa League final tonight as Arsenal face Chelsea and, while I hope Arsenal win, I won't be too heart-broken if we lose. Men's football has become less and less a sport to me, and far closer to rich people's toys to bang together and see how much money they can make. Whatever the result, the final football post of the year on this site - the Arsenal player rankings for the 2018/19 season will be posted on Monday.
