Blog | A Little One

Just a very brief post today as the evening was entirely taken up with going to see Ant-Man and the Wasp, leaving very little time to write anything in great detail now.

Ant-Man and the Wasp

The full review will be posted tomorrow, but initial impression after watching it is that it's a good film, but can't quite match the streak of quality from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 right up to Avengers: Infinity War.

It was never going to match that last one, and never tries to either, even if it does take place at roughly the same time. In terms of importance, it feels a lot like the first Ant-Man film, a brief distraction from world-ending stakes for something a little more personal and achieves what it sets out to.

Arsenal 1-1 Chelsea (Arsenal win 6-5 on penalties)

Only a pre-season friendly, but people still like to draw serious conclusions from games like these. There have been plenty of Arsenal 'fans' slating the defence when only Bellerin was really below par, and they didn't have much protection from what was unquestionably a reserve central midfield of Elneny, Smith Rowe and Guendouzi.

There were also some complaints about Arsenal going forward, despite the fact that they should have had plenty if not for wasteful finishing. Lacazette may have scored the equaliser to take the game to penalties, but that goal should've been completing a hat-trick considering the chances missed - and he came on as a sub!

That's all I can really manage for tonight as just trying to keep my eyes open while typing this is giving me a headache, just remember it's Friday tomorrow!
