A good ending to an... okay first season.
Here's what I've been watching and playing over the last seven days...
MOVIES
Don't ask me why - because I don't know why - but this movie and The Dark Knight both trigger the feeling in my head of "this can't possibly be as good as I remember, right?" and they always prove me wrong - Black Panther doing so this week.
I may now go back and watch the Dark Knight trilogy again...
GAMES
007 First Light
What I thought last week was the final mission is actually the penultimate mission and I still haven't got through it thanks to shit design and even worse check-pointing.
I honestly sat down to play this on Saturday and intended to finish off the game, but got 20 minutes into the session, died in a fight and was put back to where I was 20 minutes earlier.
Not wanting to repeat myself, I simply Alt+F4'd out of the game and didn't touch it again until a few days later, got past where I died and still couldn't complete the level because I wasn't enjoying myself.
This wasn't because it was difficult at all, but - spoiler alert - it stops being a James Bond game and turns into a sci-fi action game where you're fighting robots and spend more time activating switches and using control panels than being James Bond.
Tyranny
Thanks to falling off First Light, I decided to get back to this having fallen off playing it for a while.
It still isn't great and I wasn't as far through it as I thought, so I've just turned it down to Story difficulty and am just going to smash through the rest of the game just so I can say I finished it.

Star Wars: Resistance, Season 1, Episodes 17-21 (finale)
Episode 17, “The Core Problem”
A good episode hinting at Starkiller Base from The Force Awakens without ever flat-out saying it – admirable restraint from the writers. [8/10]
Episode 18, “The Disappeared”
A decent episode, but the fact that the First Order have just been handed control of the Colossus means I have very little sympathy for characters complaining that they’re in control. [6/10]
Episode 19, “Descent”
A good episode following on directly from the last with a great plan, a sacrifice and getting more Leia!
Really liking this serialised story-telling much more than the standalone stuff. [8/10]
Episode 20, “No Escape, Part 1”
Another really good episode taking place during the events of The Force Awakens, cementing the show’s place in the timeline and explaining why BB8 had to leave the show in "The Core Problem".
It’ll be interesting to see how the season ends. [8/10]
Episode 21, “No Escape, Part 2”
An action-packed ending to the season to end things on a positive note, but I really do not care as much about the character of Tam as this shows seems to want me to. [7/10]
Overall, the biggest issue Star Wars: Resistance's first season has is that the lows are really, really low to the point of being borderline dreadful, while the highs are 'just' very good, giving the season a very uneven feel to it. [6/10]
